    1. This is the south fork of the Yuba River, where it crosses highway 49 (about 10 miles north of Nevada City) Hike about 1 mile upstream to Hoyt's Crossing. This swimming hole is about 1/2 mile beyond that. Getting down to the water from the trail requires a little scrambling and climbing down a steel cable. So it's not for everyone. Have fun!

  6. What's the water temp like? When's the best time to go?

    Also, how crazy is this climbing down the cable? I have a friend with a big sense of adventure, a love for water, and not so good knees...

  9. Pick up your cigarette butts, trash, dog poop -respect our sacred river. oh....and park correctly...if you're on or over the white line your car may get towed
