    1. This is the south fork of the Yuba River, where it crosses highway 49 (about 10 miles north of Nevada City) Hike about 1 mile upstream to Hoyt's Crossing. This swimming hole is about 1/2 mile beyond that. Getting down to the water from the trail requires a little scrambling and climbing down a steel cable. So it's not for everyone. Have fun!

  6. What's the water temp like? When's the best time to go?

Also, how crazy is this climbing down the cable? I have a friend with a big sense of adventure, a love for water, and not so good knees...

  8. Fortunately you have not sold out any of my favorite swimming holes. I hope you never find them.

  9. Pick up your cigarette butts, trash, dog poop -respect our sacred river. oh....and park correctly...if you're on or over the white line your car may get towed

  11. if you need a computer to find our sacred spots you dont deserve to enjoy them. stop coming here. stay in the bay area where you belong.

    1. Hello idiot, I'm not from the bay area, but I'd like to know what makes a person so much more deserving of this spot when hearing about it through word of mouth instead of the internet.
